Alluvion Health Finalizes Purchase of Former Roosevelt School

On January 20th, Alluvion Health closed on the purchase of the former Roosevelt Elementary School building located at 2501 2nd Ave North.  Alluvion Health purchased the building from the Great Falls Public Schools.

Built in 1927, Roosevelt Elementary School operated in Great Falls for 90 years before being replaced by the current Giant Springs Elementary School.  Since its closure, the building was temporarily used while Longfellow Elementary and Giant Springs Elementary were built and was used during the COVID-19 pandemic as a facility for remote learning.  Since 2021, the building has been unused, and Alluvion began the process of acquiring the property in 2022.

"The acquisition of the former Roosevelt School will allow Alluvion to expand our services into children and family services - a focus of healthcare with significant demonstrated need in the Great Falls region," says Kate Nessan, Strategic Partnership Director at Alluvion Health. "Alluvion Health is committed to whole-person, whole-life care, and these services will allow us to address needs that are currently unmet while greatly improving the lives of individuals and families in and around the Great Falls region."

Alluvion Health plans to begin design and architectural work at 2501 2nd Ave N, referred to now as the Roosevelt Collaborative Project, in the spring of 2023, with construction on the building slated to begin in the fall. In the first phase, Alluvion Health will offer a pediatric clinic, autism spectrum services, and employer-sponsored childcare on the ground floor of the location. In phase two of the project, Alluvion Health will build up to 16 single-family housing units on the top two floors, separate from the other services.
